Tickets are now on sale for the seventh annual Goodwill Goes GLAM! Fashion Show presented by Bank of Hawaii Foundation, being held July 19 at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall. Local female designers and business owners Allison Izu Song of Allison Izu and Summer Shiigi of Ten Tomorrow are co-producing this year¹s show, which raises funds and support for Goodwill Hawaii¹s mission to help people with employment barriers to become self-sufficient through the power of work.
Together Izu and Shiigi bring more than 30 years of experience in Hawaii¹s fashion industry to the 2018 GLAM! Show themed ³The Fashion Edit.² Separately, Izu and Shiigi will each bring her own collection of Goodwill finds to the runway to showcase her distinct style and brand.
³For my collection, I was really inspired by the abundance of men¹s wear available at the Goodwill Beretania Store and decided to have some fun deconstructing and reconstructing the pieces for women,² said Izu, owner and designer of Allison Izu.
³It¹s been such a fun process finding old prints and fashions at Goodwill to repurpose into a collection that represents who I am as a designer,² said Shiigi, owner and designer of Ten Tomorrow. ³I like to create pieces that are versatile and can be worn anytime, anywhere whether you¹re heading to the beach, work or a night out.²
