Goodwill Announces Return of New Donation Center in Maui
Kahului, HI (March 5, 2015) – Goodwill Industries of Hawaii has opened a new donation center in the mauka (mountain) side of Kahului Shopping Center at the corner of South Punene Avenue and West Kamehameha Avenue. The POD will be open and manned by Goodwill staff 7 days a week, from 9am to 5pm, accepting clothes, toys, books and other household goods.
This “Big Blue Box” will serve as Goodwill’s return to the Kahului community after a brief absence of collecting donations. All donations received stay local and will be sold at the Maui Goodwill store, located at 250 Alamaha St. Suite N9. “We are excited to have a new convenient location right here in Kahalui for anyone to donate their goods,” says Maui Goodwill Store Manager Stephanie Holloway. “When you donate to Goodwill, you are helping us create jobs for the community.”
Revenues from the sale of donations directly support Goodwill’s job training and job placement programs. In the past year alone, Goodwill placed over 1,700 individuals in meaningful jobs and served over 13,000 people in Hawaii.
